Governor Healey Addresses the South Shore

The Governor recognized the Chamber’s ongoing work promoting multi-family and small-lot housing. She noted that we championed housing before it was broadly seen as essential to our economy. We support the Healey-Driscoll Administration emphasis on housing as part of its economic strategy. We have cautioned that a state formula may not work well in every single community and there will need to be some adjustments.

But the state is facing a real challenge on workforce and housing which needs to be addressed with some broad strokes. Chambers and business groups need to help our communities get to “yes” on housing in ways that preserve unique community characteristics and promote our future.
